Dear School Community,
We want to take a moment to inform you about an important facilities issue affecting our school. Over the past
few months, the condition of our restroom facilities has gradually declined and has now reached a point where
they can no longer safely and reliably support daily student use. We have been monitoring the situation closely
during this time, but the issue has now progressed to the point that immediate attention is necessary. Because
the safety and well-being of our students and staff must always remain our top priority, we must address this
issue now to ensure our facilities remain safe and functional.
A licensed plumber will be on campus this week to begin working through the plumbing problems so that our
facilities can remain functional and meet required safety and health codes for the remainder of the school
year. This work is considered a temporary repair while we continue planning for a more permanent solution.
During the repair process, the plumber will need to frequently shut the water on and off throughout the
building in order to access and correct the plumbing issues. Because consistent water access is essential for
maintaining a safe and sanitary learning environment, it will not be possible for the school to remain in session
while this work is taking place.
For this reason, school will be out of session for the remainder of this week so the plumber can have
uninterrupted access to the building. This timeline also allows the repair work to continue over the next two
weeks, including our scheduled spring break, so that students and staff can return to a safe and functional
facility as we finish the school year together.
We understand that unexpected schedule changes can create challenges for families, and we truly appreciate
your patience, flexibility, and support as we work through this situation. Our teachers will be sending home
learning materials and assignments to help students stay engaged with their learning during this time.
In addition, our district is currently working on a school bond proposal that will address this major
infrastructure issue more fully and provide a long-term solution for our facilities. We encourage our
community to keep an eye out for more information about this bond in the near future.
Thank you for your continued partnership and understanding as we address this necessary repair. Our goal is
to ensure that when students return after spring break, they can do so in a safe environment that supports
their learning and well-being.
